Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a small, sleepy town. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of communities. Many who've never heard of it often mistake it for a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is often referred to as her birthplace. However, she only resided there for a very short duration. Brugel became an aspiring young lady within Courtice Ontario just outside Oshawa. Her first ambition was to be a dancer. Then, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew every dance partner she had. A Toronto Star article revealed she's six feet tall, with heels. As soon as I outgrew the size of my male friends then I stopped. Brugel was one of many former dancers that turned into acting. The teacher she had at high school was what pushed her to take the next step. The teacher suggested she try to find a role in school's annual play. The teacher who suggested that she take on a part in the school's annual production. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. In the past 20 years, Brugel's work has been seen on the small and big screen. She gained the most recognition when she landed her role as Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the character the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale the series filmed over ten years ago.
